So what’s up with all this handmade soap? Soap’s just soap....right? Wrong!
Commercial soaps i.e. the soaps we find at retail stores are not true soaps since they contain chemical-based colorants, dyes, lathering agents and preservatives. Moreover the natural glycerine that occurs as the byproduct of the saponification process ( soap making process) is often removed from the soap and used in products like moisturizers etc. Thus often these soaps tend to leave our skin dry, cause irritation, acne, allergies and other side effects which though we tend to ignore but are harmful for us.
On the other hand, Handmade soap bars are crafted with care using natural oils, butters, clays, fragrances and naturally occurring glycerine. Thus making them gentle, moisturising and naturally lathery on the skin!
Moreover, all our products are SLS AND Paraben Free. SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) is a chemical foaming agent and harsh synthetic detergent that causes the excessive rich lather we find in commercial soaps.
Paraben on the other hand is preservative added to products to increase their shelf-life and prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi.
Both of these products strip away the natural oils of the skin, cause dryness, acne, allergies, itchy and flaky skin and are believed to disrupt hormone function by mimicking oestrogen.
